Pat Nevin says 28-year-old Everton ace did something ‘extraordinary’ in last night’s FA Cup win
Everton are through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after triumphing in a nine-goal thriller at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees hosted Tottenham on Merseyside and both sides delivered a game for the ages, with four goals apiece come the end of normal time.
The Blues found themselves a goal down after just three minutes through Davinson Sanchez’s header from a corner, but rallied round with three goals late in the first half.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin fired home on 36 minutes, Richarlison put Everton ahead with a low drive two minutes later, and Gylfi Sigurdsson converted a 43rd-minute penalty.
Erik Lamela pounced on the stroke of half time to make it 3-2, and Sanchez netted again to drag Spurs level just before the hour mark.
Richarlison then put his side 4-3 up on 68 minutes before substitute Harry Kane restored parity once again with a far-post header.
In extra time, Bernard struck what proved to be the decisive goal on 97 minutes.
The Brazilian struck a fierce angled effort past Hugo Lloris after being set up by a superb Sigurdsson delivery over the Spurs back line.
And Everton legend Pat Nevin was delighted with the 28-year-old’s effort, telling BBC Radio 5 Live (): “Extraordinary – a brilliant finish again.
“Left foot, far corner, 5-4, that double substitution that Jose Mourinho was going to make before, he’s definitely going to do that now.”
The FA Cup quarter-final draw takes place on Thursday evening, at around 7:45pm GMT.
The draw will be done after Wolverhampton Wanderers face Southampton, and just before Barnsley take on Chelsea.
