Pascal Struijk reacts on Instagram after making Leeds debut
Marcelo Bielsa has now handed out first-team debuts in each of Leeds United’s last two games, with Pascal Struijk becoming the latest to play for the senior side for the first time on Tuesday night.
✅It was Olly Casey who got his chance at the weekend as Leeds beat Huddersfield Town. The youngster looked composed during his brief stint on the pitch. And it appeared that he did enough to impress the supporters.

🐻But when Bielsa decided to bring on a defender during the latter stages of the 2-0 win against Hull City on Tuesday, it was Struijk who got the nod.
🅰The Dutchman came on for Helder Costa with just a handful of minutes remaining. It was too late for the former Ajax trainee to make any sort of impression on the game. But it is clearly one hurdle that he was delighted to clear.

▨After the match, Stuijk took to Instagram to suggest that it was an unbelievable feeling getting to play for the Whites for the first time…

🙈It may be a relief for Struijk to get that chance. He has arguably been the most impressive defender regularly playing for the under-23s for some time now. And it is probably a surprise that his chance has not come sooner.
♛He now appears to be vying with Casey for more game-time in the coming months. And that can only be a good thing for the promotion-chasers with Leeds perhaps not boasting great numbers in that area of the pitch.
