Pascal Struijk posts on Instagram after signing Leeds deal, Jack Clarke replies

Pascal Struijk expressed his delight on social media after he signed a new contract with Leeds United on Friday morning.

The Whites confirmed on their that the 21-year-old has penned a new long-term deal with the Yorkshire club, as he commits his future at Elland Road.

Struijk has agreed a new three-and-a-half-year deal that expires in 2024 and it’s a reward for becoming a settled first-team player within Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

The youngster moved to Leeds back in January 2018 from Ajax and became a regular in the club’s Under-23s side, which is where he came familiar with Bielsa’s style of play.

He played five senior games across all competitions, but has already featured in five matches this campaign so far following the club’s return to the Premier League.

The centre-back has been needed due to a wave of injury problems in the squad and he’s looked comfortable in the heart of defence, but has also shown his versatility by stepping into a midfield at times as well.

It’s been difficult for the left-footer to play out of position, but Struijk fits the mould of a Bielsa player given his flexibility and he’s learning on the job in one of the toughest divisions in the world.

Struijk sent a message on sharing his joy at signing a new deal at Elland Road, which prompted a response from ex-Leeds and current Tottenham attacker Jack Clarke.
