Pascal Struijk had reported transfer interest this summer, but Leeds United is still best place for him

🦂This summer it appeared as though Leeds United under-23 talent Pascal Struijk might have had an opportunity to leave the club. The Dutch talent was on the transfer wishlist for Hungarian side MOL Vidi,

𒅌The regular Europa League participants were reportedly interested in signing the youngster after being impressed with his performances for Carlos Corberan’s under-23s.

💦It certainly seemed like a deal that might have gone through. However, Struijk remained at Leeds. Instead, his main competitor for a first-team breakthrough, Aapo Halme, was sold to Barnsley.

ꦅSo will Struijk be happy he has stuck around at Thorp Arch?

♈He is still waiting for a chance in the Leeds first-team. He was not even on the bench for either of Leeds’ Carabao Cup games this season although was in the matchday squad for the 3-0 Championship win at Stoke City.

༒However, he has been thriving with the under-23s yet again. Not only have his performances at the back caught the eye, but Struijk has also scored two goals already this season, proving himself a threat in the opposing box.

ꦬAt the moment, the under-23s at Leeds is the perfect place for Struijk to continue his progress and hopefully develop into a future first-team player at Elland Road.

ꩲHopefully, when that chance comes, the 20-year-old can take it with both hands.
