Pascal Gross proof of the impact new Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl

Southampton fans are rightly getting excited about the impact new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl might have at the club. The Austrian arrives at St Mary’s with a fine reputation from his time at Aalen, Ingolstadt and RB Leipzig.

Many fans will now be hoping he can transform the south coast club and help Southampton move away from the relegation zone.

There is already one player on the south coast in the Premier League that can vouch for his quality as a manager.

Brighton’s most creative spark in the Premier League has been Pascal Gross. The German cost a from Ingolstadt last summer. He went on to provide eight assists and score seven goals for Brighton last season, earning him the club’s Player of the Season award.

Whilst this season has been disrupted by an ankle problem, he has proven himself capable at this level.

It was under the guidance of Hasenhuttl that Gross first became such a force. In the second season under his guidance, Gross provided 23 assists in one campaign.

Hasenhuttl helped shape him into one of the stars of the Ingolstadt side, securing the interest of Brighton.

If he can turn someone like James Ward-Prowse or Stuart Armstrong into such a phenomenon then Southampton will be very happy.
