Paratici reportedly ‘ready to close’ deal to sign Serie A star for Tottenham, elbowing Inter and Napoli aside
that Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici is ‘ready to close’ a deal to sign Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.
Nandez, 25, is in his third season with the Serie A outfit. Having won the Copa Libertadores with Boca Juniors, he moved to Cagliari in 2019.
Since then, he is established himself as Cagliari’s best player – by some distance. He has clocked up 79 appearances, having a hand in 11 goals.
The 44-time Uruguay international is renowned for his tenacious, hard-working displays as a terrier in the middle of the park. But he has flair, too.
His technique in terms of passing and dribbling is impressive. Tottenham were linked in the summer, and clearly, Paratici remains an admirer.
, Nandez has a £30million release clause at Cagliari. A bargain, at the moment.

Tottenham eye Nandez: Winks will surely go if Nandez joins?
As stated, Tottenham are said to be ‘ready to close’ a deal to sign Nandez. It is a move that would see Tottenham beat two Italian heavyweights.
Indeed, Nandez joining Spurs would see Paratici beat both Inter Milan and Napoli in the race to get him. But some room needs to be made.
Harry Winks has only started once in the Premier League, and both Inter and Roma are keen – . If Nandez joins, Winks closes in on an exit.
But in terms of Nandez and Tottenham, it is the perfect fit. Spurs need more work rate in midfield to give the attackers the platform – Nandez is ideal.
