Pablo Fornals reacts to atmosphere in West Ham win

Pablo Fornals has told that the atmosphere inside the London Stadium during their victory over Manchester United on Sunday was unbelievable.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are up to fifth in the Premier League. Andriy Yarmolenko put the home side in front against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men with a smart finish just before half-time.

And after a couple of nervy moments during the second-half, Aaron Cresswell put the game to bed in the 84th minute with a sumptuous free-kick that found the top corner.

It was a fantastic statement from the Hammers, who are just two points off second place Manchester City. They have now won four of their last five games in all competitions, and they have not conceded a goal since the 3-1 win over Watford in August.

And Fornals – who arrived in the summer in a £24 million deal () – insisted that he was taken aback by the supporters after the latest win.

“It was a great afternoon,” . “Yarmo’s in a very good moment right now, off the back of his injury, and Cresswell from the free-kick was amazing.

“The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing. I had four friends and my girlfriend here too. Now I’ll ask them if they enjoyed the game, but [from the pitch] I think that the atmosphere was unbelievable!”

West Ham fans would have been forgiven for fearing the worst when they lost 5-0 to Manchester City on the opening day of the campaign. But they have responded to that defeat superbly.

Lukasz Fabianski has not conceded a goal at home since that day. And West Ham appear to be one of the sides looking to take full advantage of the slow start made by some of those who would have expected to take a spot in the top seven before the campaign commenced.
