Ozan Kabak reveals his Liverpool debut made him feel ‘really sad’
Liverpool defender, Ozan Kabak, has revealed in an interview with the that his debut for the club against Leicester City left him feeling ‘really sad’.
The Turkish star joined the Reds in January from Schalke, completing a loan move as a stop gap to help plug Liverpool’s injury ravaged backline.
But rather than getting off to a fine start as a Liverpool player, Kabak endured a bit of a nightmare at Leicester. It was a game the Reds lost, and Kabak was partly responsible for the loss.

And speaking in his latest interview, Kabak admitted that the performance and day in general had left him feeling deflated.
“Unfortunate things, it’s football and that can happen. It happened. But in my opinion, in football, whatever happened you need to forget it and you need to keep going and keep going. You need to forget the past,” Kabak .
“That’s exactly what I did – I forgot the moment and I try to give my best in this game and after this game. But, to be honest, I felt really, really sad. But my teammates, manager, everyone supported me and I appreciated it.”
Kabak has since grown into his role as a Liverpool player. He has been a regular under Jurgen Klopp. However, it remains to be seen whether his loan deal will be made permanent. The Reds are said to be keen on Ibrahima Konate, which could hinder Kabak’s hopes of a summer Anfield switch.
TBR View: Kabak has proven himself, he’s done pretty well for Liverpool
For a young defender coming into the Premier League with big shoes to fill, Kabak has done well.
He might have had a bad start but every player can do that. In fairness to him, he’s grown in confidence and proven himself as a more than capable centre-half at this level.
Schalke are said to want around £18m, which in this climate, could be a bit of a bargain.
