Owen Hargreaves raves about ‘unplayable’ Everton man, compares him to Manchester United superstar

that Abdoulaye Doucoure is similar to Paul Pogba – after Everton beat Burnley at home 3-1 on Monday.

Everton came from behind to beat Burnley at Goodison Park, after defender Ben Mee had given Sean Dyche’s side the lead. But Everton were excellent.

Rafa Benitez was questioned for his signings of Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray in the summer. But the duo were crucial to the victory.

Townsend laid on the cross for Michael Keane to equalise, before scoring a sensational effort from all of 25 yards. Gray got the third.

Doucoure created both Townsend and Gray’s goals, finishing with two assists. Hargreaves raved about him, comparing him to Man United’s Pogba.

“He’s got so much potential. he’s so good defensively, box to box. I don’t want to cause controversy here, but he is a bit Pogba-like,” Hargreaves said.

“He’s so gifted, so talented. Can do so many different things. He can pass, ink, he is really unique – when he plays like that, he’s unplayable.”

Hargreaves on Doucoure: Do Everton have their own Pogba?

Doucoure was at his best last night. Receiving the ball on the turn and feeding the attackers in a slightly advanced midfield role.

While £290k-a-week () Pogba has been sitting in midfield this season, he is more than capable of doing Doucoure’s role – and vice versa.

Both are incredibly creative, but mix technical ability with physical attributes such as stamina, speed and strength.

For £20million (), Everton have really got themselves an underrated version of Pogba. Can he be as good? He has some way to go.
