‘Over and over’: Anonymous player now makes interesting claim about new Aston Villa boss Unai Emery’s training methods

An anonymous player has now made an interesting claim to about new boss Unai Emery’s training methods.

The former Arsenal manager was confirmed as Steven Gerrard’s successor last week and officially took over as Villa boss yesterday.

The former Villarreal manager will be hoping to turn the Villains’ fortunes around as they currently sit 16th in the Premier League table.

The 52-year-old did an amazing job with Villarreal as he guided them to an historic Europa League title in 2021. The Spaniard also led his former side into the Champions League semi-final last season, beating the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus along the way.

Now, Emery will be aiming to prove he can be a success in England after being sacked by Arsenal back in 2019. And an anonymous player has shared what the Villa squad can expect from his training sessions.

Player makes interesting claim about Emery’s training methods

The player who worked under Emery in Spain asked not to be named but said the new Villa boss has a keen eye for detail.

“There’s always a lot of attention to every small detail,” he said.

“He doesn’t mind if he has to repeat a football drill or some instructions over and over. He just wants to make sure that the message is understood.”

It seems that Emery will certainly be putting the Villa squad through their paces at Bodymoor Heath over the coming weeks.

The Spaniard will be tasked with getting this talented squad firing once again after a poor start to the season under Gerrard.

Villa did bounce straight back with an emphatic 4-0 win over Brentford just days after Gerrard was dismissed. But they were brought back down to earth again as they were on the receiving end of the same scoreline at St James’ Park over the weekend.

Emery has a big job on his hands in the Midlands but he will inherit a talented squad that is undoubtedly underachieving at the moment.
