‘Outstanding’ Tottenham youngster about to leave on season-long loan to Belgium
Although deadline day has now passed, it doesn’t seem as if Tottenham Hotspur are quite finished with their business, still seeking a few opportunities in the loan market.
Last season, Tottenham had a clear strategy to send their best youngsters out on loan, exposing them to first𒐪 team football.
Ange Postecoglou was willing🦹 to ship out new signings Alejo Veliz and Ashley Phillips shortly after they joined the club.
And alongside Dane Scarlett, both✃ Veliz and Phillips have now been loaned out again, with Spurs perhaps hoping this will be the last season before they’re first team ready.
Veliz is causing a lot of excitement in La Liga already for Espanyol, a loan move that’s already been more productive than♍ his ti💖me at Sevilla.
And it looks as if Tottenham will now attempt to repeat that success with Alfie Devine.
Alfie Devine set to join Tottenham youngster Luka Vuskovic on loan at Westerlo
Last season, Devine made 15 appearances for Plymouth Argyle on loan, providing two assists but failing to score in tho𝓀se games.
And according to journalist Alasdair🌃 Gold, who shared his update on X, Tottenham will now be shipping 20-year-old Devine out on loan to Belgium to join Luka Vuskovic at KVC Westerlo.

Gold shared: “Understand Alfie Devine will fly to Belgium tomorrow as he looks to wrap up a season-long loan deal with Westerlo. He’ll li🥂nk up there with centre-back Vuskovic, who jo🌼ins Spurs next year.
“Luka Vuskovic that s💧hould say of course. Good move for Alfie to get minutes. He had a string of Championship clubs interested in him this summer but S🐓purs were initially reluctant to let him go out on loan. That changed later in the window but many of those clubs had moved on.”
An excellent opportunity for the ‘outstanding‘ youngster, who is perhaps🔯 now reaching the point where he needs to make quick progress if he’s ever going to play f🅷or Postecoglou regularly.
Time for Tottenham to give Mikey Moore a chance, too?
Among all the excellent talents in Spurs’ academy right now, there’s arguably no one better than 17-year-old Mikey Moore.
Moore really impressed for Postecoglou during pre-𒅌season, a talent who is perhaps a cut ab📖ove the likes of Devine and Phillips.
In truth, it feels as if Moore is in the elite bracke𝓀t alongside talents like Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.
And although Tottenham plan to give Moore chances this season, perhap♚s it w🐲ould be a better idea to send the youngster out on loan.
Gray and Bergvall are now first team ready because🔯 they’ve got a full season of senior football under thei꧅r belt, and it could be time for Moore to do the same.
