‘Outstanding’ Tottenham midfielder says he could leave on loan after the South Korea tour

Tottenham Hotspur’s Asian tour is now well underway with the second leg of their pre-season trip finding them in South Korea.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side have been welcomed extremely well by those in the capital city of Seoul as Heung-min Son make his return to his homeland.

Tottenham are in action on Wednesday against a K League XI which will see their new signing Yang Min-hyeok start the game for the opposition.

It has been a strange summer market for the Lilywhites so far with Spurs only really seeing Archie Gray come through the doors so far.

However, there have been plenty of outgoings from north London with two players departing this week alone.

One player who is currently on the tour of Asia has now admitted there is the possibility that he could be soon to leave the club on loan.

Tottenham player admits a loan move may be sanctioned

Despite there having now been nine exits from Spurs this summer, there is still room for more to depart before the window closes next month.

Talks between Tottenham and AC Milan are now closing in on a deal for Emerson Royal to make his move to the San Siro.

And it is believed Aston Villa hold an interest in Giovani Lo Celso as Spurs eye a move for Jacob Ramsey in the opposite direction.

But there are a lot of promising youngsters on display at Spurs currently and they are players who will need game time to develop their skills.

Young midfielder Jamie Donley has been speaking to about his immediate future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It is believed EFL clubs have shown an interest in Donley this summer and the midfielder has admitted he could leave on loan.

“I haven’t been told anything. I’m obviously here at the minute and on tour, so I’ll just keep doing the best I can and then when I come back [to England], I’ll probably find out a bit more of what’s happening,” he said.

“I’m not sure [what I prefer], whatever the coaches think is best for me to be honest, and I trust what they think is right.”

Should Spurs loan out Jamie Donley this summer?

It will be a really tough call for Spurs to make on Donley over the coming weeks with the midfielder being a player of real talent.

The 19-year-old provided a return of five goals and 12 assists in his 17 Premier League 2 appearances last season.

And the youngster has been a real feature in pre-season this summer so far.

However, Postecoglou has been playing the ‘outstanding’ Donley at left-back due to the lack of options in that position and the surplus in midfield.

But with the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall shining already, it has to be questioned whether Donley would be able to earn the minutes this season to continue his progression.

As long as the player has a future in north London, Spurs fans would surely be satisfied with Donley earning a solid loan move.
