‘Outstanding’: Alan Shearer blown away by £32k-a-week Liverpool talent
Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has made it into Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week.
The 23-year-old has been a superb deputy for first-choice Reds stopper Alisson Becker over the past 18 months.
Alisson spent some time on the sidelines last season, and Jurgen Klopp initially replaced the Brazilian with Adrian.

However, later on in the season, the Liverpool boss gave Kelleher a chance ahead of Adrian.
The Irishman has now cemented the second-choice spot at Anfield.
And in Sunday’s meeting with Chelsea, Kelleher replaced Alisson in the XI after the Brazilian tested positive for covid.
The talent looked confident and assured throughout the 2-2 draw.
Kelleher couldn’t do anything about either of Chelsea’s goals, but kept the score down with some top saves.
He showed great anticipation to deny Christian Pulisic when clean through, then thwarted him again in the second half.
Kelleher’s efforts saw him make Shearer’s best XI of matchweek 21 on the Premier League .
“Produced three outstanding saves and couldn’t do a thing about the two goals Liverpool conceded in their 2-2 draw at Chelsea,” he wrote.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah joined Kelleher in Shearer’s XI.
The best teams have strength in depth and, in Kelleher, Klopp has an incredible deputy for Alisson.
