Ally McCoist that he thought that Steven Davis was out of this world as Rangers won their Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard’s side are through to the quarter-final after beating Celtic 2-0. The opening goal came from Davis – and the strike was emblematic of his overall display.

The Northern Irishman scored with a superb overhead kick after 10 minutes. It was a brilliant piece of ingenuity from the midfielder, who continues to surprise those who may wonder when he may start to look like a 36-year-old out on the pitch.
And McCoist could not hide how impressed he was by Davis’s performance as Rangers saw off their bitter rivals in their latest Old Firm meeting.

“I thought he was absolutely out of this world today,” . “I really did. I thought he was fantastic.
“The goal was special, but I just think he controlled everything. He was playing in little pockets, he was picking everything up. What a season he’s had.”
TBR View: Davis could be around at Rangers for some time yet
It is remarkable to recall how long it seemed to take Davis to get up to speed upon his return to Ibrox.
Some may have wondered whether his second spell at Rangers may be a short one. But he has made over 40 appearances in both of his full seasons back in Scotland.
And based on his performances this term, there looks to be no reason why he cannot continue for some time yet.
It certainly appears that there is more silverware for Davis to win at Rangers before he calls it a day.
