‘Our information is’: Arteta did something ‘dramatic’ at Arsenal just two weeks ago – journalist

Ian McGarry just how Mikel Arteta has been able to turn things around at Arsenal recently.
Arteta turning the tables
Arteta came under heavy pressure in the early part of the campaign, with Arsenal opening the season up with three losses.
However, the Gunners have now managed to win their last three on the spin.
Arsenal’s performance against Tottenham Hotspur, as they won 3-1 in the North London derby, showed that confidence is now much improved in the group, as they completed the victory in style.
Arsenal’s performance was arguably their most complete under Arteta to date.
And Castles said that a team meeting held just a fortnight ago was key to the turnaround.
The rookie manager cleverly allowed his players to speak some home truths, which created a collective spirit in camp.
“Our information is that Arteta took some quite dramatic steps with regards to remedying their poor form by inviting his whole squad and his senior players and players he relies upon to speak freely in a team meeting around two weeks ago to discuss what they thought was going wrong with their performances and indeed Arteta’s own performance,” McGarry said.
“That clear the air meeting was held and since then results have improved.

“In terms of Arteta himself he clearly is someone who is very focused and extremely ambitious. He wants to succeed at Arsenal and is certainly not a quitter.”
Arsenal’s big improvements
Arsenal still, of course, have work to do if they are to fulfil expectations this season.
The Gunners are only sat in mid-table, even after their winning run.
But Arteta’s side’s ability to compete physically against Burnley was impressive, while their victory over Tottenham proved the quality that they do possess.
The Gunners will now surely be looking to build on their recent successes, with a game against Brighton & Hove Albion next up.
