‘Our best youth player’: Some Arsenal fans hail 17-year-old’s display v Newport

A number of Arsenal fans have waxed lyrical about Omari Hutchinson’s impressive display for the Gunners Under-21s on Tuesday night.

Kevin Betsy’s charges came out on top in a seven-goal thriller away at Newport in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Hutchinson took a while to find his feet in the game as Arsenal fell behind to Jordan Greenridge’s 19th-minute effort.

However, the 17-year-old equalised in style on 33 minutes as he nutmegged one player, cut inside another and curled a fine finish into the far post.

Arsenal then took the lead in the 53rd minute, Salah Oulad M’Hand finding the top-left corner with a superb free kick from the left edge of the D.

Newport then turned the game around with goals in the 62nd and 68th minutes, Timmy Abraham and Alex Fisher finding the back of the net.

However, the Gunners then equalised through James Olayinka in the 86th, before netting a sensational injury-time winner through Charles Sagoe Jr.

Arsenal fans were delighted with their players for their efforts, Hutchinson coming under plenty of praise:

Hutchinson been with Arsenal since the age of 11 and has progressed through the age groups at Hale End.

The teenager, who signed his first professional contract in November last year, is known for his technical ability, passing and speed.
