‘Our best youth player’: Some Arsenal fans hail 17-year-old’s display v Newport
A number of Arsenal fans have waxed lyrical about Omari Hutchinson’s impressive display for the Gunners Under-21s on Tuesday night.
Kevin Betsy’s charges came out on top in a seven-goal thriller away at Newport in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Hutchinson took a while to find his feet in the game as Arsenal fell behind to Jordan Greenridge’s 19th-minute effort.

However, the 17-year-old equalised in style on 33 minutes as he nutmegged one player, cut inside another and curled a fine finish into the far post.
Arsenal then took the lead in the 53rd minute, Salah Oulad M’Hand finding the top-left corner with a superb free kick from the left edge of the D.
Newport then turned the game around with goals in the 62nd and 68th minutes, Timmy Abraham and Alex Fisher finding the back of the net.
However, the Gunners then equalised through James Olayinka in the 86th, before netting a sensational injury-time winner through Charles Sagoe Jr.
Arsenal fans were delighted with their players for their efforts, Hutchinson coming under plenty of praise:
He is so so special, our best youth player imo

Hutchinson! What a beautiful goal from the extremely talented Omari Hutchinson. He receieves the short corner, megs the first defenders, takes on the second defender, cuts towards the top of the box and unleashes a curler into the far bottom corner. 1-1.

As a somewhat kinda neutral that was a great game, lots of goals, Omari Hutchinson was next level and Aaron Lewis really showed he should be playing more

Hutchinson was very good again tonight, and needs to be playing more in the PL2. It’s hard to fit him in the current team but Betsy needs to find a way.

Salah-Eddine also very good tonight, and really encouraging for Edwards to come on and make an impact after his u18 form.
A lot of love for Charlie Patino and rightfully so, but let’s also BIG UP Omar Hutchinson at the moment.
