‘Our best player again’, ‘brilliant’: Some fans in awe of 23-year-old Liverpool loanee’s display last night

Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo, currently away from Anfield on loan, put in a great display for his current side on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old attacker swapped Liverpool for Cardiff in August, linking up with the Bluebirds on a season-long stint.

To date, Ojo has made eight appearances for his current team, all in the Championship, and registered two goals and an assist.

On Wednesday night, Cardiff travelled to Derby and played out a 1-1 draw, Kieffer Moore equalising for the visitors on 77 minutes after Martyn Waghorn had opened the scoring in the first half.

Ojo was one of his side’s better players, making several great runs – including the one which led to his side’s equaliser – and looking bright throughout.

“Terrific work from Sheyi Ojo, who danced through the middle of the pitch and played an inch-perfect pass into Kieffer Moore, who slotted under the onrushing Kelle Roos”, Wales Online journalist Glen Williams.

He subsequently gave Ojo 7 out of 10 in his and named him Cardiff’s star man on the night.

A number of Cardiff fans also took to Twitter to praise the Reds loanee’s efforts on the night and so far in the blue shirt:

Ojo is contracted to Liverpool until the summer of 2023, so he still has time to stake a claim for a Reds first-team spot once he returns to Anfield.

Admittedly he’s got some tough competition in front of him but if he continues to shine for Cardiff, it’s just going to give Jurgen Klopp and his coaches more food for thought.
