Oscar says Arsenal duo have been trying to convince him to move to Emirates

Shanghai SIPG superstar and former Chelsea midfielder Oscar – – as saying that Arsenal duo Willian and David Luiz are trying to convince him over a move to the Emirates.

Oscar, 29, spent the best part of five years at Stamford Bridge before leaving in January 2017 to move to China. He played 203 times for the Blues, scoring 38 goals and creating 37 more – while winning the Premier League on two occasions.

He has since played 132 times for Shanghai SIPG, where his stats are off the charts. An enormous 73 assists means Oscar creates a goal at a better rate of less than two games – while also netting himself 44 times. he earns £410,000 a week.

Speaking to Fox and quoted by the Evening Standard, Oscar stated that his Brazil teammates and current Arsenal duo Willian and Luiz are trying to convince him over a move back to London – but this time with Arsenal.

“They called me, they had to call me, because we have good communication,” . “Sometimes I talk to them. They said ‘come to Arsenal, come here’.

“But for me it’s a little more difficult. I have a contract with Shanghai, it’s a little more difficult to leave. “The most important thing is to be happy, regardless of the place. So I hope they are happy there.”

TBR’s view – Oscar would be a stunning signing, but wages are a problem

Especially with a new deal expected to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang receive a big pay rise, Willian signing for big money and Mesut Ozil still on the books at the Emirates. To add a player of his wages, would increase an already bloated wage bill.

Yes, he would be a wonderful signing for Arsenal. In his prime, he is surrounded by Brazilian stars including Willian, Luiz, Gabriel, Pablo Mari and Gabriel Martinelli. He has shown he is capable of shining in the Premier League.

But he has a contract at Shanghai SIPG until 2024 and it is likely his transfer fee would be a fortune, even before wages are considered. A stunning player, but beyond Arsenal’s financial realms. he has the same agent as Luiz.
