Ornstein says he’s now expecting PL sides to target £15m Tottenham player
David Ornstein has suggested that there is expected to be Premier League interest in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the January transfer window, with Tottenham Hotspur open to selling the Dane this month.
It would perhaps not be a huge shock to see Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leave Spurs in the coming weeks. The 28-year-old has actually featured in every single Premier League game after the opening day of this campaign. However, he has only started four games for Ange Postecoglou in the top-flight.
With that, there has been plenty of speculation surrounding the former Southampton captain. Napoli are one of the sides linked with a move for Hojbjerg.
Premier League sides expected to try and sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham
But perhaps Hojbjerg could end up making a much shorter move from North London.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s , David Ornstein suggested that Tottenham are looking to bolster their resources this month. And thus, Hojbjerg can go.
Interestingly, he noted that he may get the chance to move to one of Spurs’ top-flight rivals.
“They would like players to go. Hugo Lloris has already gone to LAFC. That doesn’t bring in a transfer fee, but it moves his salary off the wage bill, which is crucial in this financial fair play era,” he said.
“They would very gladly do the same with Eric Dier, who’s out of contract next summer and is not part of the plans. And also, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who might generate a transfer fee for them. And that could be crucial.
“There is expected to be interest in him in the Premier League and elsewhere.”
Spurs can only let Dane leave if replacements are coming in
Letting Hojbjerg go is a gamble, in the short-term. Tottenham will be without Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr over the coming weeks. If fit, the pair should both be involved at AFCON 2023.
That will leave Spurs incredibly light in midfield. So Hojbjerg may have a more prominent role if he sticks around.
However, he would surely relish the chance to become a regular starter elsewhere. He has been one for much of his time following his move. So this season will have been a difficult one.
And while Postecoglou does not have a place for him in his preferred lineup, there are a number of Premier League sides who would surely improve by having Hojbjerg in their ranks.
