Ornstein hints Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Gabriel Jesus

David Ornstein that Arsenal have all but agreed personal terms with Gabriel Jesus as they look to sign the Manchester City striker this summer.

Jesus has been linked with an Arsenal move for a little while now. In fact, recent reports claimed that the Gunners had reached advanced talks with the Brazilian.

Jesus is out of contract at the Etihad Stadium next summer. And with Erling Haaland reportedly coming in, this summer may be a good time for the 25-year-old to move on.

It could well be that Arsenal are the ones to secure a deal. Ornstein has now suggested that not only are talks underway, but personal terms look to have all been finalised with the forward.

“I understand that they have been talking for a number of months about this possibility, to the extent that that part of negotiations from what I hear is pretty much done and dusted,” .

“But there has been no contact, to my knowledge, so far between the clubs. So that’s obviously a significant step that would need to be taken.”

Arsenal definitely need to sign at least one striker in the summer. They are a side which is progressing, but there is still plenty of work to be done.

Signing a new goalscorer is absolutely imperative. So it will please many Arsenal fans that they are in pole position to sign Jesus. Ornstein notes that they are favourites to secure his signature.

He has now scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 35 appearances in all competitions this season. Of course, he scored four times in their weekend win over Watford.

Pep Guardiola lauded his ‘‘ ability following that latest display. And it is extremely exciting for Arsenal that they seem to have made some significant progress in their pursuit of the striker.
