West Ham United “really like the idea” of signing Kortney Hause from Aston Villa, according to Dean Jones.

The Hammers are yet to bolster their ranks in the January transfer window.

Angelo Ogbonna is out long-term and Kurt Zouma is only just back out on the grass.

Jones has spoken about West Ham’s reported interest in Hause twice this week.

The transfer insider told on Tuesday: “It’s definitely possible.

“It’s one that West Ham are looking at, I think in the last week it’s one that’s become clearer.”

And on Wednesday, he : “I think West Ham really like the idea of bringing him in.

“So I think it’s one to watch out for.”

Hause has spent the last three years at Villa after joining from Wolves in the summer of 2019.

The 26-year-old has made 54 appearances in claret-and-blue.

However, Hause isn’t getting much first-team football at present.

This season, he has just 395 minutes of Premier League football under his belt.

However, Hause has done well when called upon, most notably against Manchester United in September.

The 6ft 3in ace scored a late winner at Old Trafford and kept Cristiano Ronaldo at bay throughout.

Ashley Preece of the Claret & Blue Podcast sung Hause’s praises after the game.

“He was incredible today,” he said, as transcribed by the .

“He pocketed Ronaldo, Ronaldo was very quiet today, Hause was winning all the aerial duels.

“United could still be playing now and they wouldn’t score.

“Hause is the ultimate squad player, keeps at it and is always ready and willing. What a snip at £3million!”
