‘One of the worst passers’… ESPN pundit picks flaw in 28-year-old Tottenham Hotspur player

Craig Burley has given his verdict on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after watching him in action for Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester City.

The former Chelsea midfielder has also given his take on Tottenham winger Bryan Gil.

So, what has Craig Burley said about Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg? Let’s take a look.

Craig Burley critical of Tottenham Hotspur duo Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil

Well, Tottenham Hotspur played out a with Manchester City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

It was a hugely entertaining match. City will probably be disappointed by the late controversial call from the referee.

Tottenham, though, will be pleased. After all, Spurs attacked City and did not play defensive football. And they picked up a point.

Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley was following the match, and the ESPN FC pundit noted the important change that Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou made at half time.

Gil started on the left of a 4-2-3-1 formation. Postecoglou took him off at half time and brought on Denmark international central midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

ESPN FC pundit Burnley has said that Gil is a lightweight, adding that Hojbjerg, 28 is one of the worst passers in the Tottenham team.

Burley said on : “One of the things that changed [at half-time] was that he realised that Bryan Gil is a very talented, technical player, but he’s lightweight.

“So he switched Johnson to the other side, he put Kulusevski on the right. He brings Hojbjerg on who is probably one of the worst passers in the Tottenham team, certainly from midfield going forward but at least he’ll run about, make some tackles, fill some holes.”

Hojbjerg and Gil are squad players at Spurs

Both Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil are mere squad players at Tottenham Hotspur now, and I do not think that that is going to change anytime soon.

Hojbjerg has made only two starts in the Premier League for Spurs this season. The 28-year-old Dane has been linked with moves away from the North London club.

Gil has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season.

Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
