‘One of the best’ strikers in the world is pushing to join Tottenham before the end of the window

Tottenham Hotspur have not exactly enjoyed the most exciting of summer transfer windows so far.

The north London club have only seen one new face come through the doors to ahead of the season opener against Leicester City.

Of course, Timo Werner has remained for another loan spell and Yang Min-hyeok will arrive in January.

However, when it comes to new players who will be available to start in just over two weeks time, it is only Archie Gray available for Ange Postecoglou.

But that could soon change with Tottenham potentially looking to add a new striker to their ranks ahead of the new campaign.

And there is one striker, in particular, who is now hoping to make the move to Tottenham over the coming weeks.

Striker desperate to make the move to Tottenham this summer

Tottenham are going into the final two weeks of their pre-season with no natural senior striker fit for the opener against Leicester.

Richarlison played through the middle last season and the Brazilian remains out through injury.

Dejan Kulusevski has been playing in the number nine role of late with Heung-min Son returning to his more natural spot on the left wing.

Spurs are crying out for a natural goalscorer to come in and there is one Premier League player who is now keen to become a Spurs player.

According to , Ivan Toney is keen to make the move across London to Tottenham this summer.

The Brentford striker is keen to make a move to a club where he would be able to compete for silverware.

In addition, the appeal of playing in Europe is a big thing for Toney who has worked his way up the leagues having now established himself as a Premier League player.

Another big advantage a potential move to Tottenham would provide for Toney – who’s been hailed ‘one of the best‘ strikers in the world – is it means he wouldn’t have to relocate from his current home.

Will Brentford now sell Ivan Toney?

All summer, there has been the belief that Toney was destined to leave Brentford with just 12 months remaining on his current deal.

However, that has now taken a potentially major blow over the last 24 hours.

Brentford signed a new striker – viewed as Toney’s replacement – back in January and Igor Thiago has since joined the club at the beginning of the summer.

Ahead of the new campaign, the new Brentford striker has just picked up a serious injury which is going to keep him out for months.

Whether this has an effect on whether Brentford will now need to keep Toney until January remains to be seen.
