‘One of the best players on the pitch’: Gold wowed by Spurs 19-year-old’s international display
Tottenham Hotspur fans were able to get a glimpse of Destiny Udogie’s skills and qualities on Thursday afternoon.
Spurs signed the 19-year-old from Udinese in the summer, but he’s plying his trade for the Serie A side this season.
Tottenham loaned Udogie back to the Udine-based club, where he continues to do well.

The Spurs gem has already scored twice in Serie A in his first six appearances of the new season.
Indeed, Udinese coach Andrea Sottil could barely believe Udogie didn’t get a call-up to the senior Italy squad.
“These decisions surprised me,” the manager was quoted as saying by last week.
“I respect Mancini’s choices but I was still surprised.
“I think Udogie is one of the best full-backs in the league, he proves this all the time.”
Instead, the Tottenham talent is in the Italy Under-21 squad, and featured in their 2-0 friendly defeat to England U21s.
It was a game many Spurs fans will have been keeping tabs on, with four of their players in action.
Tottenham were represented by Udogie, Ryan Sessegnon, Oliver Skipp and Djed Spence.
“He looked like a far older senior player”
For 26 minutes, all four Spurs players were on the pitch at the same time.
This is something which Alasdair Gold loved to see.
The football.london correspondent wrote about the quartet on the online outlet.
After speaking about the three England U21 players, Gold moved on to Udogie.

“It says plenty about Udogie’s character that there was no sulking or feeling he was better than the level,” he wrote on .
“And when he was brought on at half-time, he was one of the best players on the pitch for the hosts.
“Always confident and calling for the ball, the teenager swept up the pitch in his left wing-back role with skill and strength and plenty of defensive ability as well.
“He looked like a far older senior player helping out the youngsters rather than being one of the younger players on the pitch himself. “
