‘One of the best’: Patrick Vieira says Leeds have a ‘fantastic’ player who’s always wanting to improve

Patrick Vieira has claimed that Jack Harrison possesses one of the best work ethics in the game as he expressed his delight for how the Leeds United star’s career has played out – .

Harrison began his professional career at New York City FC. And it was Vieira who handed the winger his debut for the side back in 2016.

He then went on to move to Manchester City. But he has really made his name with Leeds, joining permanently after three loan spells at Elland Road.

His form has dipped this term. But there do appear to be a number of factors behind some of his struggles.

And given that how impressive he has been for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, there looks to be every reason to believe that Harrison will get back to tearing full-backs apart again soon.

Certainly, Vieira would not be surprised to see Harrison rediscover his best form judging by the Crystal Palace boss’ comments about the 25-year-old.

“I’m really pleased with how well he has been doing since leaving the MLS,” he said, .

“He’s a really talented young player who just needed to find the right place to play and to challenge himself because his work ethic is one of the best in the game.

“He is always wanting to improve his commitment to the game. It’s fantastic and working with him in New York was really enjoyable.”

Harrison showed more promising signs in recent Leeds defeat

Harrison enjoyed his best season yet for Leeds in their first year in the Premier League. So he has certainly proved that he can make a major impact at the highest level.

And what will encourage Leeds fans is that he seemed to step up in the side’s recent defeat to Tottenham.

Some superb work down the left led to Harrison setting up Dan James for the game’s opening goal.

And Vieira will certainly be wary of taking Harrison lightly when Palace travel to Elland Road to face Leeds on Tuesday.
