‘One of the best’: Jordan Henderson really admires £30m Real Madrid man he says he has watched a lot
Jordan Henderson has shared his admiration for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric before facing him in tonight’s Champions League final.
Henderson has spoken to the ahead of the game, which sees him go up against the former Tottenham man in the engine room.
In 2018, Modric helped crush Henderson’s dreams in the Champions League final and World Cup semi-final within a matter of months.
And Henderson has made no secret of what he thinks about the man who made the move to the Bernabeu back in 2012 for £30 million ().

Henderson a big fan of Modric
“Modric is one of the best players I’ve ever played against,” said Henderson.
“Modric has got the lot, hasn’t he? It’s the way he can move with the ball; dribbles, low centre of gravity, his work rate, winning the ball back, seeing a pass and scoring. He’s someone I’ve looked at a lot and admire a lot.
“Kroos is the same. Casemiro is another amazing player. They are really experienced and know how to win. Those three are top players but I watched their games against Chelsea and City and you’ve got players like [Eduardo] Camavinga and [Federico] Valverde coming on.
““We could sit here all day and talk about the talent in Real’s squad. Eden Hazard and [Gareth] Bale might not have played as much but are still hugely talented players that can change a game in any moment. Real have players who can turn a game on its head.”

Henderson will be looking to lift the Champions League for the second time as Liverpool captain tonight on a night when he will become the first Englishman to lead his side out in three European Cup finals.
He will be charged with using his energy to get close to the likes of Modric, who are not as dynamic but have so much quality on the ball.
Liverpool are the better side on paper but Madrid have outstanding individuals and a never-say-attitude, which has got them to this point.
