‘One of the best’: David Beckham raves about £175k-a-week Tottenham player at the World Cup
The World Cup has now ended and Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conteಞ will have a full group of players back in training very soon.
Cristian Romero’s Argentina defeated Hugo Lloris’s France to win the biggest prize in football.
𓆏A number of Tottenham players put in some fantastic performances throughout the tournament.
Ivan Perisic was excellent for Croatia, and had a great game against Morocco to secure third place.
Although he wasn’t prolific in front of goal, Harry Kane was fantastic for the Three Lions, pulling the strings in deeper areas.

However, Beckham was particularly impressed with Brazilian forward Richarlison.
💝Richarlison had a great tournament, leading the line for Brazil until their shock quarter-final exit to Perisic’s Croatia.
He has already returned to Tottenham꧅, after picking up an injury that’s likely to keep him out until after the New Year.
💝However, Beckham has admitted he loved Richarlison’s second goal against Serbia.
ౠIt was one of the moments of the tournament, and cemented Richarlison’s place as Brazil’s preferred number nine.
Beckham loved Richarlison’s scissor kick goal
about his favourite goals at the World Cup.
ꦏ“I think Richarlison’s scissor kick for me was one of the best [goals],”
🌳“For me personally, I’m going to have to say [Luis] Chavez’s free-kick. Being obviously a fan of free-kicks, I’m going to have to say that was a very special one.
ꦆ“There’s been great goals all the way through the tournament, but if I had to pick two it would be Chavez’s and Richarlison’s.”

🅠 is arguably higher up the pecking order for his country than his club.
𒈔Conte preferred to introduce him from the bench rather than start him, and he’s yet to score his first league goals for Spurs.
🦩He would have been hoping his fantastic World Cup form would have helped him force his way into the side.
꧂However, his latest injury couldn’t have come at a worse time as he looks to make his mark in north London.
๊Richarlison will be encouraged by how much Beckham loved his goal, and Spurs fans will want to see similar acrobatics very soon.
