‘One of the best’… Cesc Fabregas says £35m Chelsea defender is genuinely unreal on the ball
Chelsea are in a sticky situation at the moment.
A win against Aston Villa in the FA Cup this week restored something of a feel-good factor at Stamford Bridge, but, at the same time, there are still untold issues at Stamford Bridge.
The west London club sit 11th in the league after spending over a billion pounds on their playing squad, simply put, that’s not right.
Speaking on the , Cesc Fabregas has been trying to dissect some of the issues at Chelsea right now, and he maintains that Chelsea still have a lot of top players on their books.
Fabregas named a number of Chelsea players that he rates, and he reserved some special praise for Benoit Badiashile, claiming that he’s one of the best young ball-playing centre-backs in Europe.

Cesc Fabregas praises Benoit Badiashile
The pundit spoke highly of the man.
“They have a lot of quality, Caicedo was a top player for Brighton, Fernandez was one of the best players at the World Cup, Sterling, nothing to be said, Palmer is a top talent. I played with Disasi and Badiashile, Badiashile is one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in all the young players in Europe, there is a lot of quality and a lot of talent,” Fabregas said.
Not showing it
Fabregas clearly has a soft spot for Badiashile from their time together at Monaco, but, if we’re being brutally honest, the Frenchman hasn’t been good enough this season.
Fabregas says that Badiashile is one of the best young ball-playing defenders around, but he doesn’t look like he’s of that standard at the moment.
Of course, nobody in this Chelsea team is shining at the moment, and at the age of just 22, Badiashile does have time on his side, but, based purely on what we’vs seen so far, the centre-back isn’t as good as Fabregas is making out.
