Olivier Ntcham’s new Celtic contract is genius by Brendan Rodgers

Celtic on Friday that midfielder Olivier Ntcham has penned a new four contract with them.

The Bhoys revealed that the French midfielder has signed a deal that will keep him at Parkhead until the summer of 2022.

He has developed into a key player in the starting XI since his arrival in 2017 and tying him down to a new contract is a genius move by manager Brendan Rodgers.

Ntcham is a central midfielder that chips in with goals for the Scottish champions and is also an enforcer that helps protect the back four.

A new deal states the player’s intention to remain with the club, but perhaps equally as important it shows that it’s going to take a mega deal to prize him away.

Rodgers has been extremely clever in persuading one of their star players to extend his stay with them and clubs across Europe will have to fork out the cash to sign him.

, Celtic rejected an offer in the summer of around £13million for Ntcham from Portuguese giants Porto.

His impressive displays domestically and on the European stage are clearly going to catch the eye of potential suitors, but he looks like being very much a Celtic player for the immediate future.
