Oliver Mintzlaff gives Spurs hope of landing Marcel Sabitzer
Spurs have been given encouragement from RB Leipzig supremo, Oliver Mintzlaff, in their pursuit of impressive midfielder, Marcel Sabitzer.
The Leipzig CEO was speaking to this week about the summer transfer window. Within that interview, he admitted what he sees the ideal squad number at with Leipzig. Further, he admitted that certain players may leave.
One player who is set to go is defender, Ibrahima Konate. The big Frenchman is set to sign for Liverpool, barring any last minute hold ups or changes of heart.

But for Spurs, their ears may prick up when it comes to Mintzlaff’s comments given their interest in Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian has long been courted by the club, with Jose Mourinho a big fan of the midfield dynamo.
Leipzig are believed to be seeking around £36m for their key midfielder. And Mintzlaff’s comments below, seem to open the door for Spurs.
“With the newcomers, we now have a squad size of 25 for the new season. We have a size of 21 in mind. So something else will happen. That is logical. We can not only buy, but also have to give up players from time to time,” Minztlaff said.
TBR View: Sabitzer is brilliant but Spurs move could depend on who is boss
Sabitzer has been linked with a move for so long that you almost expect the deal to just be done and dusted in a flash.
But now with Spurs not having a manager, things could change. At one point, he looked nailed on to sign for the North Londoners but such is life, that things have changed considerably.
The good news is that Leipzig seem open to selling. Further, Daniel Levy will want to show he is backing any new boss, so if they do want Sabitzer, you can bet he finds the money.
