Oliver Glasner shares big Marc Guehi deadline day update amid Liverpool links
Liverpool have left it late to make new signings this summer, with both of them coming in the final week of the transfer window.
The Reds confirmed the signing of Giorgi Mamardashvili on Tuesday before wrapping up the signing of Federico Chiesa a few days later.
Now, with the transfer deadline just a few hours away, Liverpool don’t have much time if they are to make any more signings.
While some clubs will be happy to listen to offers for their players on deadline day, others are ruling out any prospective sales for their assets.
Now, the manager of a “phenomenal” defender said to be on Liverpool’s radar has confirmed that his player will be going nowhere this summer.

Liverpool and Newcastle target Marc Guehi now staying at Crystal Palace
The player in question is Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi, who has been linked with several Premier League clubs in recent months.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Liverpool had internally discussed signing Guehi, who is also wanted by Newcastle United.
However, Palace boss Oliver Glasner has now revealed that the England international will not be going to Liverpool or Newcastle, or anywhere else for that matter.
“I was never really in doubt,” he said at his pre-match press conference, via
“First of all, really congratulations to Crystal Palace, the chairman and the owners, to everyone who didn’t give in.
“Especially after the transfer of Joachim Andersen, it was important that Marc stays.
“Thank you to Marc that he always was close in talking a lot and all the rumours didn’t influence his performance, his mood and his professionalism.
“He’s not pushing to leave Crystal Palace, that was for me the most important thing. That the players like to place for Crystal Palace, for the team here. Marc told me that very often.
“Sometimes people act in the opposite way, Marc told me and acted him, the same way. He showed his fantastic character again. Marc stays at Crystal Palace and stays our captain.”
Liverpool miss out on ‘phenomenal’ defender
With Liverpool losing the services of Joel Matip after his contract expiry, the Reds could certainly do with some reinforcements at the back.
Guehi would have been a great shout for Arne Slot’s Liverpool, as he’s a “phenomenal” player who has proven himself at the highest level.
However, he wouldn’t have come cheap. Palace apparently weren’t even willing to accept a £70million package for him.
And so, Guehi is set to stay. Liverpool will need to look elsewhere if they are to bring in reinforcements at the back.
