Oli McBurnie lauds Aston Villa’s John McGinn on Twitter

Oli McBurnie was amongst those to take to Twitter to laud John McGinn after the Aston Villa star produced another outstanding display for Scotland.

McGinn has quickly become his country’s talisman. While many of the squad will be disappointed with their contributions during this qualifying campaign, the Villans star has unquestionably stepped up.

And it was McGinn who ensured that Steve Clarke’s men finished the campaign on a high. Scotland initially went 1-0 down to Kazakhstan on Tuesday night, and the fans would have been forgiven for having flashbacks to the 3-0 defeat in Astana that left the writing on the wall for Alex McLeish.

But the home side turned it round at Hampden Park. It was McGinn who equalised with a deflected free-kick during the second-half.

And it would be the Villa man who wrapped up the victory in stoppage-time. He got onto the end of a drilled cross from Greg Taylor to make the scoreline 3-1.

Scotland missed out on securing a spot at Euro 2020 through their group. But they have another chance in the play-offs thanks to the Nations League. And there is no question which player the Scots will be looking to to inspire them in March.

And following the win, McBurnie took to social media to laud his international teammate with a simple three-word tweet.

Here is what McBurnie posted…
