that he is confident he will play for Rangers at some point throughout his career, and has admitted to holding talks with Steven Gerrard in Dubai.
McBurnie, 23, joined Sheffield United last summer after starring for Swansea City. His 26 goals in 62 Swansea’s league and cup appearances saw the Scotland international move to Bramall Lane last summer for a huge £20million ().
However, McBurnie is widely renowned as a Rangers fan and although he was born in Leeds, the striker has repeatedly posted on social media things related to the Ibrox club. Indeed, the striker has been linked numerous times to Rangers.
The former Barnsley loanee claimed that he sees himself playing for Rangers at some point during his career – and admitted to meetin Gerrard in Dubai after a boozy session with Gers goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

“I think I will,” , when asked if he thinks he will play for Rangers at some point during his career. “There’s been a couple of times where we’ve been close before.
“I met Stevie G and Gary Mac in Dubai the summer that they got the job. I was out in Dubai with Greegsy (Allan McGregor). “He was a top man. When I walked out that room I rang my agent and said ‘I want to play for him.”
TBR’s view – McBurnie is just what Rangers need
Especially with Alfredo Morelos being linked with a summer exit. Yes, McBurnie is probably out of Rangers financial capabilities even before the global health crisis struck. But he would be a top replacement for Morelos.
The striker has struggled somewhat to score regularly for Sheffield United this season, scoring just four goals in 26 Premier League appearances but anyone that knows how Sheffield United play, will understand the strikers are not judged on goals.
Bringing him to Scotland if Morelos leaves would see the Gers not only bring in a top-quality striker, but one that knows what it means to play for Rangers.
