‘Oh my days’, ‘Love to see’: Some Tottenham fans love announcement about Bryan Gil
Bryan Gil has been handed the number 11 shirt at Tottenham – and some fans on Twitter are delighted with the news.
Spurs their squad numbers on Thursday for the upcoming 2021/22 Premier League season, which kickstarts tonight with a game between Brentford and Arsenal.
Gil, who joins this summer from Sevilla, has been given the number 11 jersey previously worn by Erik Lamela.
The 20-year-old attacker has immediately been handed a senior number by the north London club, so there is a lot of excitement around what he can do this season.
It’s a first year in English football for the left-footed winger, so he may take some time to adjust.
However, the young talent already has great experience playing in La Liga and should add some extra excitement to Spurs in the final third. His speed, dribbling and energy is something to watch out for.
Can Bryan Gil live up to number?
It’s easy to get caught up on the importance of kit numbers because realistically it shouldn’t effect how you play. But, psychologically, receiving the number 11 should give Gil a boost.
