£13m French star distances himself from Newcastle talk
French midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, has responded to rumours he could be about to leave Juventus for pastures new during the January window.
The classy playmaker has been linked with an exit from Turin for some time now. However, he has remained put and has even started eight games this season for the Italian giants.
In recent days, reports have claimed Newcastle are interested in signing Rabiot in January. reported that the Magpies were looking at Rabiot as a potential marquee signing. Indeed, with past suggesting he could cost just £13m, there’s little wonder PIF are keen.

But Rabiot, speaking today, has essentially played down talk of a move away from Juve, insisting he is happy in Serie A.
“I’m happy in Turin,” Rabiot responded when asked. )
“If I still see myself at Juve? Of course, yes,” he added.
Essentially, then, it seems Rabiot won’t be going anywhere for the time being. The Frenchman is on huge wages at Juve. But given Newcastle’s recent takeover, that wouldn’t be an issue.
TBR’s View: Newcastle don’t need Rabiot now anyway
Every window, there is a rumour about Adrien Rabiot. He’s either looking to leave, out of form, or suddenly happy where he is. Either way, it’s not the sort of player Newcastle want right now.
They need players who are going to play for Eddie Howe. Players who will fight against relegation with no ego, and buy into the process.
Newcastle will have a full list of targets. Of course, Rabiot might be on there, given his qualities when he is on form. But in the here and now, there is better value out there for the Magpies and PIF.
Rabiot, it seems, is someone we will be talking about in transfer windows for years to come from now!
