Odsonne Edouard heaps praise on PSG freebie, Celtic have got to consider move – TBR View
Odsonne Edouard has told Celtic’s official Instagram story that he believes Paris Saint-Germain teenager Adil Aouchiche is the most-exciting French talent at the moment – so surely the Scottish champions need to consider signing him.
Aouchiche, 17, has already broken into the PSG senior side under Thomas Tuchel – making three senior appearances this season and evening scoring in a 6-0 Coupe De La Ligue win over Linas Montlhery in January.
With 12 appearances for France’s Under-18 side to his name already, it is clear Aouchiche has a huge future ahead of him – but that is unlikely to be at PSG. That is because the attacking midfielder’s contract is due to expire in June.
Aouchiche could be on his way across the channel to Leeds United in the summer on loan, if PSG can agree a new deal for the teen. But nothing has been confirmed as of yet – and Edouard is clearly a fan.
Celtic’s links with PSG are already very strong – and Edouard is proof of that. Having signed Edouard initially on loan from PSG, the club also secured the services of Timothy Weah for a loan spell in 2018-19. Edouard was signed permanently in 2018.
PSG know they can trust Celtic as a place to develop their young players. With Aouchiche in need of game time, a new contract and a loan next season is just what the teenager needs – hence Leeds’ interest.
But Celtic need to blow Leeds aside following Edouard’s claim about the 17-year-old wonderkid – and lure him to Scotland using the past connections to convince PSG that Parkhead is a better move than Elland Road.
