Nuno has a chance to end Tottenham’s silverware wait in Carabao Cup opportunity

Tottenham can end silverware draught with Carabao Cup run.

The Lilywhites are into the last eight of the League Cup, and could go all the way.

Last season saw Spurs fall 1-0 to Manchester City in the final.

However, that was hardly a shock, as the Manchester club have won the last four editions of the domestic cup.

Now, though, alarm bells should be ringing at Hotspur Way.

West Ham managed to overcome Pep Guardiola’s Carabao juggernaut.

This means that for the first time in five years, someone else will win the Carabao.

Tottenham must be thinking they have a chance to make it theirs.

Alongside West Ham and Tottenham, the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are in the quarter-finals.

We won’t find out who the Lilywhites are up against in the final eight until Saturday.

However, Nuno must have a real go at this.

It’s common knowledge that he’s not the first choice of the fans or the hierarchy above him.

However, should he overcome the odds and win a trophy, there’s no reason why he can’t turn the tides on his time in North London.

A 1-0 win over Burnley got the Lilywhites here.

It wasn’t at all a flashy win, or a memorable one for that matter, but a win is a win.

It was enough to see them into the next round and now it’s just about crashing through the next couple of rounds.

With Chelsea and Liverpool battling in the title race, hopefully Spurs can steal a march on the pair by taking this one more seriously.

In Arsenal, there is plenty of mettle to be dealt with, but Spurs are as good a bet as any for the Carabao crown.

It’s now just up to Nuno to see the importance of silverware amongst the White Hart Lane faithful.
