New Everton signing .

The Toffees announced the loan signing of Coady on Monday night as the player completed his switch from Wolves.

As a captain of his former club, the 29-year-old will certainly bring leadership qualities to Everton’s defence this season.

And Coady has said he is ready to play for his new boss as soon as this weekend against Aston Villa and has now declared he is already enjoying his time under Lampard.

“Now that I’m here, the first couple of days have been fantastic,” he said.

“The boys are brilliant, the gaffer’s top drawer. I think it’s been something where I’ve loved every minute of it up to now and listen, we’re working towards the weekend and we can’t wait for it.

“To get this opportunity, to speak to the manager of Everton was a bit surreal, if I’m being honest with you, on the phone. It was a little bit goosebumpy.

“I was just sat on the phone thinking ‘I’m speaking to Frank Lampard here’. That’s what it was like.

“I was listening to how he was speaking to me and this is one of the greatest English players of all time, he’s on the phone to me here telling me what he wants to do with Everton Football Club.”

TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has already heaped praise on Coady and feels he will bring excellent leadership qualities to Goodison Park.

It was definitely surprising to see Wolves let their captain leave on loan but Lampard will be delighted to pick up such an experienced defensive player.

The England international looks set to forge a partnership with James Tarkowski in the Everton defence this season and Lampard could even switch to a back-three involving Yerry Mina.

After the injury Ben Godfrey suffered against Chelsea last weekend, Lampard will be delighted to get Coady through the door at Goodison Park so quickly.
