Nottingham Forest should try and replace Eric Lichaj with Jonjoe Kenny loan swoop

Nottingham Forest are set to lose one of their longest serving players this summer, with American full-back Eric Lichaj on his way to Hull City. the two clubs are nearing an agreement over the player, who has agreed on a move to the KCOM Stadium. Forest are said to be after a fee of around £400,000 for the 29-year-old.

It will leave Tendayi Darikwa as seemingly the only right-back option at Forest.

Which is why they should look at Everton again this summer. Last year they snapped up Kieran Dowell from Goodison Park. The England youth international went on to have an excellent first half of the season at the City Ground, although did burn out in 2018. This summer, Forest would be making a great move if they tried to sign his room-mate and best friend Jonjoe Kenny.

The Everton full-back had a fantastic 2017. After winning the Under-20 World Cup with England he then found himself in the Everton first-team due to injuries at the club.

However, with Seamus Coleman returning to first-team action, Kenny has found himself back down the pecking order. Once again he showed his talents this summer with England, helping his nation to the Toulon Festival crown.

The 21-year-old is clearly a potential Premier League right-back in the making but needs to be playing regular first-team football. At present, Everton cannot offer him that and Forest can.

It would be a smart move for all parties. Everton would be giving him the first-team action he deserves whilst Forest would be replacing Lichaj.

Forest should certainly have Kenny on their radar this summer.
