Nottingham Forest star defends player sold by Leeds this summer
Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley has leapt to the defence of Pontus Jansson after the new Brentford defender came under criticism from Leeds United fans for his comments after his Elland Road exit.
Jansson, 28, left Leeds earlier this month and chose to join London-based side Brentford for a fee believed to be in the region of £5.5million. the reason for his move was down to financial fairplay.
The Swedish defender , after it was clear that Leeds wanted to offload their fan favourite. Many Leeds fans have suggested that he was lying.
With the debate rife on Twitter over whether Jansson did indeed want a move to Brentford before hearing of their interest, Forest star Lolley defended the Swede, claiming that Brentford are a very good “footballing team”.

TBR’s view – Brentford style an attractive proposition
The likes of Ollie Watkins, Neal Maupay and Said Benrahma have given the Bees a free-flowing attack, with manager Thomas Frank adopting a possession-based style of play since moving to Griffin Park.
The fact that Lolley has noticed himself just how easy on the eye Brentford can be, is proof that perhaps Jansson did indeed want a move to Brentford – as his pick of the Championship clubs.
The Bees are likely to be a strong force next season in the running for the top six, especially after the signing of Jansson. If Frank is to push his side towards the top, they will need to keep linked-away Maupay and Benrahma.
