Nottingham Forest now want to sign ‘one of the best goalkeepers in the world’

Keylor Navas is among the goalkeepers being considered by Nottingham Forest after Dean Henderson’s injury.

The report that Manchester United loanee Henderson is expected to be back around the end of next month.

In the meantime, Forest are looking into the potential of signing a replacement, and Navas is a potential option for Steve Cooper.

The report claims Bournemouth are also looking at Navas, who also has the option to join former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

Forest considering Navas swoop

Navas is currently at Paris Saint-Germain, where he has fallen down the goalkeeping pecking order and Euro 2020 winner Gianluigi Donnarumma is number one.

That means he is apparently open to the prospect of a move this month to try and get more gametime under his belt.

Mauricio Pochettino worked with Navas in the French capital, and in January 2021, he was effusive in his praise for the Costa Rican.

As per , Pochettino said: “We know about him from his time in Spain. It is clear that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, it is a true honour to work with him.

“He is a great professional, with great sporting qualities and, after working together, we are getting to know each other and enjoying seeing what a great goalkeeper he is.”

It would seem a bit of a gamble to sign Navas on huge wages if Henderson is only going to be out for a matter of weeks.

What happens if Forest get Navas and then Henderson comes back? Both men will have left huge clubs looking for games and only one of them would be able to get them.
