However, that immediate future might lie away from Chelsea. has tweeted out tonight that Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Leicester are among the teams keen on signing the 19-year-old.

Forest’s interest is the one that will standout though. Run by the impressive Steve Cooper, the Forest manager has an impressive history of working with young players. Having coached at England youth level, he is well-respected among younger players.

The Reds are looking to add to their squad this summer after winning promotion and hope that Cooper’s respect and contacts can help them. Morgan Gibbs-White is being linked, as is young Liverpool defender Neco Williams.

Colwill faces a tough ask when it comes to breaking into the Chelsea first-team. While a number of defenders have left, the Blues are expected to spend big and are keen on names such as Jules Kounde and Matthijs de Ligt.

TBR’s View: Forest Could Be Perfect For Levi Colwill

After being so good for Huddersfield last year, the next step is surely a Premier League club for Colwill and Forest could suit him nicely.

They have a brilliant manager in Cooper and they play football a way which Colwill will like. He’ll be given ample chance to defend as well, given Forest will likely come under high pressure in a lot of games.

Nottingham Forest can stay up this coming season. And if they sign Colwill from Chelsea, it gives them an increased chance of doing just that.
