Nottingham Forest fans react as Newcastle reportedly want Joe Worrall

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is a target for Newcastle United this January ().

Worrall has been an ever-present at the back for Forest and fans believe he is a future captain. After returning from his loan spell at Rangers, the 6ft 4in centre-back has gone from strength to strength.

With Worrall at the back, Forest are keeping things tight and pushing for promotion. Going into the international break, Sabri Lamouchi’s side are second in the Championship – level on points with league leaders West Brom.

Worrall has been a major part of their success. The 22-year-old has played in every minute of every game and he has been solid. As a result of Worrall’s form, Forest have conceded just nine times in 11 games.

Unsurprisingly, Premier League teams are watching Worrall. Newcastle reportedly want the physical central defender to boost their promotion credentials. This report adds that Worrall will be available on the cheap in January because his contract expires next summer.

However, that is wide of the mark. Worrall recently committed his long-term future to The City Ground. Here are some tweets from Forest fans discussing these rumours.
