Nottingham Forest fans praise Joe Worrall after performance against Cardiff
Nottingham Forest managed a narrow away win against Cardiff City on Tuesday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter hailed defender Joe Worrall for his performance.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side kept up their automatic promotion bid by beating Cardiff 1-0 on the road in the Championship fixture.
Tiago Silva’s early goal in the second-half gave the Reds three points, as he converted a cross from teammate Lewis Grabban into the top corner.
The result means that Forest are now up to third in the Championship table and are only three points behind second-placed Leeds United, but they have played a game extra.
Leeds travel to Middlesbrough on Wednesday night for their midweek fixture and have some extra pressure on their shoulders.

A selection of Forest supporters on social media picked out Worrall for his contribution in midweek and believe he was a colossus in defence.
The 23-year-old centre-back has been an ever-present in the defence this season and he helped earn another clean sheet against Cardiff.
He’s a young talent that came through the academy system at the City Ground and it now finally looks like he is maturing to a brilliant defender at Championship level.
Here are some Forest fans on Worrall:
Joe Worrall most improved player. Brick wall ????

Worrall has been class this season gotta be up there for best defenders in the league

That felt like an okay half. In a positive way. Nowhere near clinical enough, but on the front foot for the most part and good fluidity between the front four. Worrall and Ribeiro both had good halves too. Cardiff have definitely offered a threat, but not hugely concerning.

Figs and Worrall have been immense again
— Kevin Lamouchi (@kevinlamouchi)
Joe Worrall is the best CB in the championship.

I would do with Yates what we did with Worrall…send him up to Scotland for a bit.

Not pretty but job done. Watson fantastic again. Worrall & Figs, absolutely solid. Performace went up a gear when Semedo replaced Yates. Grabbs put a shift in but didn’t get much service. On we go.

Really good away performance tonight. Good results all round. Word on Figs and Worrall again aswell as The Skipper. Tireless and solid. Big win. Goes without saying we need to build on this again
