‘Not up to the level’… Tim Sherwood says 23-year-old Tottenham player is not good enough
Tim Sherwood has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp isn’t good enough to play for a top-four club.
Spurs picked up a very good win over Nottingham Forest last night. Ange Postecoglou’s men were the better side and completely deserved the three points, but Yves Bissouma’s red card puts them in a difficult position now. Sherwood doesn’t think Skipp is good enough to replace him.

Tim Sherwood says Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp is ‘not up to the level’
Tottenham will now be without Yves Bissouma for four games following his red card last night.
The Mali international will then head over to the African Cup of Nations, which means he may not play a game for Spurs until the start of February.
With Rodrigo Bentancur also out injured, Tottenham are now short of options in the middle of the park, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp the only other players available to start alongside Pape Matar Sarr in midfield.
Sherwood thinks Skipp is not at the level required to play for a club in the top four of the Premier League.
Speaking about Bissouma’s red card, Sherwood said on : “They need him. They’ve got injuries.
“Bentancur is out injured at the moment. Skipp is probably not up to the level of the top for, top five of the league at the moment. Hojbjerg is not really the flavour of the manager.”

Skipp can do a job for Tottenham
Oliver Skipp is by no means on the same level as Yves Bissouma or Rodrigo Bentancur, but the 23-year-old is still capable of doing a job in the middle of the park.
Ange Postecoglou has been pretty consistent with his selection in midfield. Bissouma has been his main man, while Pape Matar Sarr is the chosen one next to him.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will likely be the one to replace Bissouma in the coming weeks, but we really think Skipp deserves an opportunity.
The 23-year-old showed real promise whenever he played under Antonio Conte. He has all the qualities to be a top midfielder and if he gets a chance in the coming games, we’re convinced he will impress.
