‘Not my intention’: Liverpool boss Klopp apologises for Real Madrid comments

Jurgen Klopp has apologised after what he described as “so much noise” regarding a comment he made about the venue in which Liverpool’s Champions League first leg match against Real Madrid was played.

Rather than wel🦩come Klopp’s side to the 81,000-capacity Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Real took on Liverpool in the far more modest surroundings of the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

Zinedine Zidane’s men played the visitors off the park, securing a 3-1 lead in the quarter final tie that the Premier League champions are 🔥looking to𓃲 overhaul tonight at Anfield.

As reported by , the Live🎐rpool boss had described the ground as a “traininꦚg pitch”.

Klopp has now sought to clarify that remark, insisting that he had no intention of disrespecting Los Blancos and insisting that the comment has been blown out o🐷f propo♕rtion.

Speaking to , Klopp said: “Pe🐈ople have made so much noise about th꧃at thing.

“I didn’t want to be disrespectful.

“𓆉If they th𒅌ink that is the stadium they want to play at, that’s completely fine for me.

“Theyও play there the whole season. I kn💧ow the situation and that they are renovating (the Bernabeu) or I don’t know what exactly they do.

“That’s all fine. But making a story out of what I said is a real joke to be h🌳onest.

“If somebody thou🦩ght I was disrespectful, I am sorry. That was not my intention.”

Real are severely depleted at the back for tonight’s game, w💧ith Sergio Ramos, Rafael Varane, Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez all ruled out.
