‘Not good enough’… Jamie Redknapp unhappy with £42m Tottenham player after what he did vs Man United
Jamie Redknapp was unimpressed with Cristian Romero’s defending for Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford today.
Ange Postecoglou welcomed the Argentine and Micky van de Ven back on Sunday, with the duo playing alongside each other for the first time since early November.
The centre-back pairing didn’t exactly get off to an ideal start as Rasmus Hojlund netted within three minutes.
Bruno Fernandes set Marcus Rashford away and the United winger was eventually tackled by Destiny Udogie.
Hojlund pounced on the loose ball and stole a yard on Cristian Romero before smashing the ball past Guglielmo Vicario.
And Jamie Redknapp has criticised Romero for keeping his hands behind his back while attempting to block the shot.

Redknapp unimpressed with Romero’s defending for Man United goal
Speaking on ’ coverage of the game, Redknapp explained why he believes Romero could have done better for United’s opener.
“I want to talk about Romero as well because you see so many defenders today put their hands behind their backs,” the former Spurs man said. “You cannot run properly with your hands behind your back, it’s impossible.
“You see him there, just get your hands out, get in a good balanced position. You see his hands behind his back there, not good enough.”

You can understand why defenders are more inclined to put their hands behind their backs while attempting to block shots since VAR’s introduction to football.
Romero arguably could have done better in the situation though, particularly as the defender was in an ideal position to react.
Nevertheless, it took Spurs just 15 minutes to level things up at Old Trafford as Richarlison netted with a well-taken header.
Tottenham dominated for large periods of the game but were hit against the run of the play in the 40th minute.
Marcus Rashford linked up well with Hojlund before placing the ball into the bottom corner to beat Vicario.
Spurs responded right after half-time though, with Timo Werner setting up Rodrigo Bentancur after a brilliantly worked move.
