‘Not going to join us’: Nuno says £15m Tottenham man definitely won’t be playing tonight

Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno has confirmed that Joe Rodon will not be in the squad against Pacos De Ferreira at his press conference yesterday, .
No Rodon
Rodon is yet to make an appearance under Tottenham’s new manager, despite really impressing at Euro 2020 over the summer.
The Welshman has been carrying a knock, which has dented his progress at Spurs.
And although Rodon is now edging closer to full health, Nuno has said that the £15 million man won’t be making an appearance later tonight.
“Joe is not fit for tomorrow. He is better, he’s much, much better but he is not going to join us tomorrow, no,” Nuno said.
Can Rodon break through?
There is a feeling that Rodon could emerge as a real contender to start for Tottenham this season.
The 23-year-old was brought to Spurs last term, and he was only used sparingly by Jose Mourinho.

However, his robust style of defending has generally impressed when he has been given a chance.
Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have actually started the campaign in fine form, with Tottenham yet to concede a goal in the Premier League.
Cristian Romero has also been brought in, to ramp up competition for places even further.
But Rodon has proven that he is ready to play at the top level, through his performances both for Tottenham and Wales.
And when he is fit, he may well have a chance of breaking into Nuno’s starting line-up at some stage over the course of the campaign.
