‘Not Arsenal level’: TalkSPORT pundit says one of Arteta’s players is just not good enough

Eddie Nketiah is ‘not Arsenal level’, said pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor after Monday’s 2-0 loss at Newcastle on .

Agbonlahor pointed out Mikel Arteta’s lack of world class players in the chase for the Champions League spots.

Arteta does not have anyone on the level of Heung-min Son and Harry Kane, and that has arguably shown in the race for fourth.

Agbonlahor did actually defend the work Arteta has done with the squad available to him, after he was damning about the Gunners’ attacking options.

Nketiah is ‘not Arsenal level’

“They play with one striker. Nketiah, for me – he’s a decent player but not Arsenal level,” said Agbonlahor.

“He’s not going to be the striker to get you into the top four. [Alexandre] Lacazette [also] looks like he’s ageing a bit.

“I’ve seen a lot of pundits trying to hammer Arsenal for a disappointing season. Arsenal have overachieved!

“Looking at Tottenham, they have two world-class players in Kane and Son. Arsenal have zero.”

Nketiah produced a bit of form in recent weeks which had Martin Keown calling him ‘magnificent’ as it looked like Arsenal were going to get into the top four.

But Arsenal have looked blunt in the last two games and that will always bring criticism the way of Nketiah, who could yet leave north London on a free in the summer.

All he can do this weekend is get the goals to beat Everton and hope for a favour from Norwich at Carrow Road.
