Northern Ireland’s 100 per cent record in European Championship 2020 qualifying was lost last night when they went down 2-0 against Germany.
That said, Michael O’Neill’s side did themselves proud and captain Steven Davis got plenty of praise on Twitter for his performance.
As per : “We sat our stall out early, we wanted to have a real go. It’s difficult because they’re so good in possession and they always make you think about your positioning.
“First half, we got a lot of things right, we had a few opportunities. Second half, they started to show their quality. We’re feeling disappointed in the dressing room but in terms of effort and desire, we gave it everything.”

But the supporters were impressed with the display of Davis on the night when he set the record for outfield international caps for a Northern Irishman.
The fans were so impressed with the way he dealt with being in esteemed company in midfield and that should buoy Rangers that he will return to Ibrox on top form.
What a player!
